PR Associates’ Growth Continues

It’s been a busy few months at PR Associates. Our team is growing. We’ve rebranded, launched a new website, added two new practice areas and several new life sciences, technology, and natural resource clients.

All these changes started in March when Paola Ashton joined the Company as our Vice President. Anyone who has ever met Paola knows when she takes on a project, she is all in, and that’s certainly been the case here at PR Associates. Driven by her enthusiasm and twenty years of experience in the communication, technology, media, training, and eLearning sectors, we’ve seen unprecedented growth over the past eight months.

Our team is growing

As a result, our team is growing to meet the new demand. Pamela Rubio joined us to manage our digital marketing, design and social media team in July, while Jamal Saad joined us as an Account Manager in October. And our growth hasn’t ended. We are still on the hunt for a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator to join our team.

Some other good news, in September, Ambika Maitra, our Account Director, returned from maternity leave. Ambika is back managing the client services team while juggling mommy responsibility for her one-year-old twins. Having been a valued team member of PR Associates, we congratulate Ambika on her upcoming five-year anniversary! Welcome back, Ambika.

Even though we have expanded our team, a special shout out to Michelle Hawkins-Wood, our Office Manager, who has been an integral part of PR Associates. Michelle is also approaching her five-year anniversary with us! Congratulations Michelle!

New website and brand

With all the changes, it’s been a busy first quarter at PR Associates. We’ve completed a corporate rebrand and returned to our ‘Prepare to be Noticed’ tagline to better reflect who we are and what we do.

Our new website was launched in September, while at the same time, we announced two new practice areas.

We launched ‘The Science of Communication™’ practice to help miners explain the complicated science behind environmental, engineering and mine operations to non-miners for fact-based decision-making. We also launched our new digital marketing and design practice described in more detail below.

The company we keep

PRA’s client portfolio is also growing. A few of the highlights this month are that we were engaged by the Canadian Glycomics Network (Glyconet) to bring attention to their ground-breaking international glycomics (carbohydrate-based drugs, vaccines and diagnostics) research.

On the technology front, mimik technology a leading-edge computing firm came to us to help them get noticed, first for their contract tracing application and now for their cutting-edge computing technology.

Our science communication training practice was selected by Alberta Parks and Environment to deliver a series of workshops to help scientists communicate with non-technical people and facilitate fact-based decision making.

Our natural resources practice attracted the attention of Agnico Eagle, and now we’re translating complicated mine science so it can be easily understood by community members and non-scientists.

Recognition and Awards

We’ve also been honoured this month when Audrey’s Story, a film we produced for the Family Information Liaison Unit, Indigenous Justice Division, Ontario Ministry of Attorney General, opened the imagineNATIVE, film and arts festival.

And last but not least, our President and CEO, Robert Simpson has been accepted into the Forbes Agency Council, an invitation-only community for business owners and executives in successful public relations, media strategy, creative, and advertising agencies. Robert was vetted and selected by a review committee based on the depth and diversity of his experience. The criteria for acceptance include a track record of successfully impacting business growth metrics and personal and professional achievements and honours.
