Senior Business Development Executive

About the Position

PR Associates is looking for a self-starter who will bring a great attitude, energy and passion to our firm. This role will be responsible for attaining new B2B client business in the relative sectors we specialize in. The successful candidate will support lead generation efforts, prospect qualification, securing introductory meetings and closing business. The successful candidate will also have experience managing the sales cycle for prospects, understanding a prospect’s requirements, writing and presenting proposals and ultimately closing deals. The Senior Business Development Executive will also ensure that there is a smooth transition for new clients to be best supported by our client services team.

  • New business acquisition and achieving sales targets
  • Unique and creative lead generation techniques
  • Research, update and maintain target prospect list
  • Actively update and maintain the company’s CRM
  • A services and solution sales approach and experience
  • Contributes to new business and firm related content creation
  • Able to strategize and write customized proposals
  • Maintains active sales forecast and progress of prospect
  • Great at follow up and getting a ‘Yes’ commitment but not scared of a ‘No’ (rather than holding an opportunity that had no chance of closing).
  • Able to support senior leadership with evolving sales plans.
  • Work with the client services team to initiate new business brainstorm sessions and take ownership of applicable new business proposals under the guidance of senior leaders.
  • Comfortable with natural resources, mining and mineral exploration, life sciences, technology and other science communication focused industries.

Requirements

  • 4 – 6 years of experience in B2B solution sales; agency experience and knowledge of the mineral exploration/mining sector, technology, healthcare, professional services and/or government communication sectors a plus.
  • Self motivated with an entrepreneurial mind-set to manage time effectively and achieve results.
  • Proven sales management skills including budget management and the ability to quickly adapt and switch to a varied set of client industries and tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for listening and articulating prospect needs.
  • Extremely organized and a proficient multitasker
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Accountable and a problem solver who collaborates effectively to achieve desired outcomes.

Public Relations Account Manager

About the Position

 The Account Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of communication programs within a client/project strategic plan. S/he offers effective strategic counsel to clients and team members and contributes to the development of project elements as needed. 

Account Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Managing public relations and communication programs for clients; 
  • Developing strategic communications plans for clients; 
  • Managing project deliverables according to schedule and budget; 
  • Identifying additional services that can be provided to existing clients to expand the scope of work and grow the business unit; 
  • Media relations including monitoring and creating reports; 
  • Writing specialized materials including, but not limited to press releases, newsletters, articles, blog posts, web articles, opinion editorials and other materials as needed; 
  • Project management of social media campaigns; 
  • Implementing tactical plans for clients including creating and maintaining events, awards, speaking engagement calendars; 
  • Reviewing and advising on web, video and print design materials; 
  • Providing recommendations on how to improve ongoing campaigns and projects; 
  • Supporting Account Director with additional tasks as needed. 

    Education, Experience and Aptitude

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree(s) in journalism, public relations, marketing and/or communications are preferred; 
      • Minimum 8-10 years prior agency or in-house experience in public relations/communications; 
      • An interest in and aptitude for science, technology and healthcare (preferred); 
      • Skilled writer with an eye for design; 
      • Social media savvy; 
      • Extremely organized and a proficient multitasker; 
      • Resourcefulness; 
      • Attention to detail;
      • Fast learner;
      • Initiative taker

    Job type: Full-time, remote
