Robert is an experienced trainer and communicator who helps scientists, engineers and project proponents assess political, social and public risk and is frequently engaged by the C-suite, Boards of Directors and senior technical staff for executive training and strategic communication advice.
Robert is a leading authority on the influence of public perception on trust and has been a keynote speaker at several international science, engineering and industry conferences where he has presented “The Science of Communication” – Speaking each other’s language. Robert believes if humanity is going to continue to progress, the widening communication gap between scientists and non-scientists needs to be bridged.
Over the years Robert has trained 2,000 scientists and engineers how to effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences helping to develop $20.5 billion in new projects and introduced new technology to markets that have attracted investments of more than $600 million.
Prior to founding PR Associates, Robert spent several years as a journalist for some of Canada’s most respected media outlets, where he had a long-standing interest in energy science and technology.
Robert’s work in facilitating collaboration between corporate Canada and Aboriginal communities was recognized by the Council of Aboriginal Business and he was awarded the Leadership, Enterprise and Partnership Award. Robert is a supporter of several organizations including Right-to-Play-Play Program, Global Change for Children and he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Found, a group supporting families of Lost and Missing Men.
